However, it is important to note that this approach may also lead to issues such as misinformation and privacy concerns. Overall, the evolution of videos has transformed education, making it more dynamic and inclusive.
Self-reflection:
I chose this activity due to my interest in Weller’s book, which explores the impact of technology on education over the past twenty-five years, with the particular chapter I selected resonating my personal experiences growing up in an era where watching videos became a normalized part of life. Through this activity, I learned the impact of video-sharing platforms on online learning experiences, with YouTube, in particular, shaping the concept of participatory culture; an idea encouraging learners to actively contribute, share, and interact with content. As I read further into the chapter, I learned about the obstacles videos face in education, including digital literacy, technology availability, and concerns about misinformation and privacy. Nevertheless, the chapter offered valuable views on the benefits and drawbacks of incorporating videos into education.
